Christmas...

Merry Christmas to everyone...

When we return after the Christmas break you need to insure that you are up to date with all your work. I have spoken to most of you in class about what needs to be completed but this is just a reminder. All the following notes need to be completed:

Structure of the Earth
Earth's Atmosphere
Plate Tectonics
Geothermal energy sheet
Renewable energy sheet
Rock cycle
Experiment write up: Why tectonic plates move

Anyone who had issues sending me a copy of your endangered species project do this over the holidays. Those of you who did not complete it you have a communication sheet home to do this, it must be signed. The questions for the project are on a previous blog entry.

Any queries just let me know.

Happy Holidays!

Climate Change Questions

We are currently studying the earth in class and renewable energy. Currently the UN Climate Change Conference is taking place in Copenhagen.

The BBC are asking for school pupils around the world to answer 4 questions about the climate where they live. Here are the questions:

  1. Tell us about the extreme weather where you live. If you have been in storms, floods, droughts, heatwaves, or other extreme weather, tell us what happened.
  2. Have you ever missed school because of extreme weather? Tell us what happened.
  3. Do you think you are affected by climate change? If yes, how?
  4. Whose job is it to look after the natural world?

Include your name and age at the bottom.

You must write the answers to your questions on a word document and then email the answers to me at rossc2@cqsb.qc.ca

If they are good they will be published on the BBC interactive map.http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/talking_point/8368373.stm

Endangered Species Homework...

I am still missing alot of Endangered Species projects.

The presentations that were presented were on the whole very good, so well done!

Unfortunately we are unable to hear any other presentations as we have ran out of time in class. But I still need your work handed in so that they can be graded.

If you did not present in class either hand in a hard copy of your presentation or (if electronic) you may email it to me at rossc2@cqsb.qc.ca. If you feel that your work would grade better by being presented let me know and you can present it at lunchtime to me.
